Creating lightning in 8 steps!

Here's a tutorial on creating your very own lightning effect in Photoshop CS3, unsure whether you can do it in the older versions.

Step 1 - Create your document (any size) with a white background

Step 2 - Make sure that you have your foreground color as white and background color as black (a faster way is to tap D then X on your keyboard)

Step 3 - Go to FILTER > RENDER > CLOUDS

Step 4 - Go to FILTER > RENDER > DIFFERENCE CLOUDS.

Step 5 - Invert the image. Either go to IMAGE > ADJUST > INVERT or CMD/CTRL + i.

Step 6 - Go to IMAGE > ADJUST > LEVELS

Step 7 - Move the center arrow all the way to the right.

Step 8 - Give your lightning some color. Simply go to IMAGE > ADJUST > COLOR BALANCE and move the sliders until you get the color you want.

Just 8 steps, easy and cool!
